ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System (EnMS)

There is continuous increase in energy demand. Our dependence on fossil fuel is having multiple problems one on depletion of reserves and other on climate. Now there is concerted international , national level initiatives to ensure energy conservation. Since Industry is one of the main shareholder in energy consumption ISO came out with standard initially in 2011 and later revised in 2018 to be compatible with other Management system standards. ISO 50001:2018 specifies the requirements for an energy management system that an organization can use to enhance its energy performance. ISO 50001:2018 is intended for use by an organization seeking to manage its energy responsibilities in a systematic manner that contributes to the sustainability.
